Volleyball men through to semi finals

Team BC vs Team Nova Scotia

This morning action had Team BC Men’s volleyball team against Team Nova Scotia at the Investor’s Group Athletic Centre. This match determines who goes through to the medal round.

An extend run of Brodie Hofer’s (Langley) serves helped Team BC overcome a deficit and win the first set 25-15.

Team BC won the second set easily at 25-10. Nova Scotia pushed back in the third tied 5-5 but Team BC came through with a 25-19 win to take the match in 3 sets and qualify for the quarter finals.

In the afternoon quarter finals Team BC met host Team Manitoba at Investor’s Group Athletic Centre.

Team BC took the first set 25-18.

The second set saw many lead changes and was 21-21, but Team BC was eventually able to pull away with a 25-21 win.  Team BC took the third set 25-15 winning the game.
 
Michael Dowhaniuk (Surrey), Coltyn Liu (Vancouver) and Captain Brodie Hofer (Langley) all had strong performances.

The Men’s Volleyball team now advances to the semi finals and will face Team Ontario Friday at 12:30 CT (10:30 PT) at Investors Group Athletic Centre.
