Two fourth place finishes for Team BC rifle shooters

Today marked the start of the target shooting competition, beginning with the team rifle event.  On the men’s side, the athletes each got 60 shots.  Owen Bishop (Delta) shot a personal best score of 586.8 and Sully Fagan (Kamloops) shot a 585.5.  The combined score was 1,172.3, which put them in fourth, missing out on a medal by 0.7 of a point.

On the women’s side, athletes shot 40 each.  Glenda Argenal scored 380.8 and Leia Hoot shot a 398.2 for a total of 779.0, also placing them in fourth, 1.6 points behind the third place team.

The team pistol shooting event is tomorrow and the individual event for air rifle will take place on Wednesday.
