Team BC pins opponents to advance

The Team BC wrestling team had a fantastic first day of competition.  They won three duels today in the team tournament.   “Competing in the team competition is the most fun of all,” said wrestler Amara Jarvinen.

The teams first duel was against Team North West Territories and they won 55-0, a perfect score.  All the matches were won with a pin.  Wrestling’s second duel was won against Team Nunavut for a score of 55-0 for the women and 53-0 in the men.  The third duel they won was against Team Manitoba with a score of 43 to nine.    

“Cheering the team on and seeing all the fans was pretty cool,” said wrestler Sara Brinkac.
