Team BC men’s softball recap – July 31

BC 5, NB 4
Team BC beat New Brunswick 5-4 in extra innings Monday morning.  Tyson Ghostkeeper (Prince George) singled in the top of the 8th to bring home two runs that would prove to be the difference.

The game was looking to be a pitcher’s duel, as BC was clinging to a 1-0 lead after 5 innings.  The teams then scraped together runs in each subsequent innings, with BC ultimately prevailing, despite surrendering a run in the bottom of the 8th.

Josh Anderson (Surrey) earned the win, pitching the entire 8 innings, striking out eight batters. Nicholas Potskin (Prince George) and Joseph Rybicki (Richmond) each collected multiple hits for BC.

NL 6, BC 3
In BC’s second game of the day, they lost a well-fought battle against Newfoundland and Labrador 6-3.

Clint Taylor (Delta) reached base twice for BC, scored a run and demonstrated some stellar defense.
