Team BC finishes fifth in curling

Today BC played their final game of the competition against Team Alberta to determine their overall ranking.  In the first end, Team Alberta took two points but Team BC answered back with four points in the second.  Team Alberta scored another in the third.  In the fourth, Team BC skip Sarah Daniels (North Delta) was forced to draw against seven Team Alberta’s stones in the house.  She made the shot and Team BC was able to score a point.  This shot was a critical deciding factor in the game.

From there, Team Alberta got two points in the fifth, followed by Team BC getting two points in the sixth.  Team Alberta scored one in seven, followed by Team BC taking two points in the eighth.  Team Alberta was only able to get one in nine and Team BC went into the tenth end with a comfortable three point lead.  The final score was 9-8 for Team BC, which earned them a fifth place finish.

The team was disappointed that they weren’t going home with a medal, however, they all felt that it was good to end the week with a win.
