Team BC beach volleyball teams remain in the hunt for medals in Winnipeg

Team BC vs Team Quebec
Score: 2-0 (21-16, 21-13)

Team BC’s Jeff Webb (Nanaimo) and Isaac Bevis (Nanaimo) got back to their winning ways against Team Quebec at Winnipeg’s Sargent Park Beach Volleyball Centre on Tuesday.

Team BC won in straight sets 2-0 (21-16, 21-13). This puts Team BC into the quarter-finals and in the hunt for a medal. 

When asked what they did to get back on track, Bevis said, “we just took care of business.”

Score: 1-2 (21-13, 18-21, 11-15)

Team BC lost another tie breaker, this time to Team Quebec  Darby Dunn (Langley) and Quinci Birker (Kelowna) won the first game 21-13. However, they lost the second set 18-21 and the tie breaker 11-15. This puts Team BC 3rd in their pool.

“We made errors on our side and tried for shots that just missed,” said Darby. “It’s good to get the losses out of the way in pool play.”

Both of BC’s teams advance to the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
