Team BC baseball takes bounce back win over Team Quebec

Team BC bounced back from a morning loss to prevail Saturday afternoon 8-5 against Team Quebec.   The game was a lengthy and arduous affair, with the mercury situated at over 30 degrees for the duration of the three-and-a-half-hour game.

Both teams committed multiple errors, especially later in the game, with BC’s final 3 runs being unearned.  Quebec actually outhit BC 14-10, but BC was able to come through when it counted with timely hits from the middle of their order.   Carter Morris (Vernon) picked up the win, pitching 3 & 1/3 innings in relief with only one unearned run to his name.  Jayden Knight (Langley) and Damiano Palmegiani (Cloverdale) both went 2/4 with 2 RBI’s.  Madjik Mackenzie (Vancouver) closed out Quebec in the 7th inning to pick up the save.

With all teams in the “A” pool finishing the day with a record of 1-1, BC will start with a fresh slate tomorrow against Saskatchewan.  This will be a re-match of last year’s gold medal game at Nationals.  First pitch is slated for 4:00pm CST at Elmwood Park.  All games can be watched live at www.canadagames.tv.ca.

On bouncing back from game this morning
“Today was a big character win – being able to bounce back from a tough loss this morning showcased our ability to win even when everything isn’t working for us.  Grinding out at-bats and timely hits from the middle of our order combined with some good pitching to give us the win today.”
