Team BC Baseball falls to Team Sask in close match-up

Team BC vs Saskatchewan
Score:  3-2 Team Sask

Game Summary
In a nail-biter rematch of last year’s National Championship game, Team BC fell to Saskatchewan 3-2.  Both team’s were scoreless through 5 innings as BC’s starting pitcher’s Tyson Mcdougall (Abbbotsford) from BC and Tyler McWillie from Saskatchewan each pitched their way out of jams multiple times.  BC finally broke the ice with a bases-loaded knock in the top of the sixth frame, but Saskatchewan responded in the bottom of the inning with a trio of scores, including two off of a critical error that proved to be the difference.

Team BC was led by a strong outing from Tyson Mcdougall, who went 5 & 2/3 innings, scattering 7 hits and surrendering only one earned run.  Jayden Knight (Langley) provided both of BC’s RBI’s on a frozen rope to left field in the top of the fifth.

BC now has a record of 1-2, and will begins the second half of the double round robin play tomorrow, facing off against Alberta at 10 AM CST, and then Quebec at 4 PM.

Context:  Losing this game and what it means going forward
“This was a really tough way to lose a game [with the error in the 6th inning].  Tyson pitched a great game and it was too bad we weren’t able to take advantage.  With us going 1-2 so far, that means every game becomes even more critical.  Particularly our game tomorrow afternoon against Quebec, we are going to have to be very deliberate with how we handle our pitching.”
