Team BC Baseball earns win over Manitoba

Today’s ball game against Manitoba started out as a tight affair. Manitoba jumped out to an early lead getting one run in the 1st off Wes Moore (Surrey), the crafty left hander for TeamBC.  A SAC fly by Cade Smith (Abbotsford) scored Noah Or (Richmond) who reached base on a walk. BC got another run on a dropped pop fly. To get a 2-1 lead after 1 inning.

Manitoba got one run in the second inning to tie the ball game. In the bottom of the second Trey Fortin from Manitoba made an amazing diving catch to rob an extra base hit from Stephen Horner (Vancouver) saving at least one run. Fortin unfortunately had to come out of the game with a suspected sprained thumb. That defensive gem was not enough, as Team BC scored 9 runs to blow the game open. Manitoba errors aided the BC offence.

Thomas Neal (Vancouver) came in for relief giving up only one run in the 4th and closed out the game. TeamBC scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to make the score 18-3.

Noah Or, an excellent lead off hitter, had a monster game at the plate going 2-3 with 2 walks, scoring 4 runs and collecting 5 RBIs. He was also solid behind the plate and a threat on the base paths. Dawson Gray also had another great hitting performance as DH going 2-3 with a walk, scoring 3 runs, and 2 RBIs.

BC are looking forward to the next game against Saskatchewan.
