Team BC adds another five medals to bring total to 145

This second to last day of the Games saw the conclusion of swimming with the 5000m long distance race.  This was supposed to be an open water swim but due to the water conditions at the original venue, the race was moved to the Pan Am pool where the athletes completed 100 laps.  
Team BC’s Raben Dommann (North Vancouver) won his fifth gold medal of the Games and completed his sweep of the long distance events.  Acacia Benn (Penticton) added a silver in the 5000m which was her fifth medal of the Games.

Tennis earned two bronze in the men’s and women’s doubles events to finish off their tournament with three medals.

The exciting cycling criterium saw Gillian Ellsay of Courtenay win her second gold of the Games.

SILVER: Swimming 5000m – Acacia Benn (Penticton)
BRONZE: Volleyball Men Team BC 3 Team Quebec 2 
BRONZE: Tennis Men’s Doubles –  Yasmin Mansouri (West Vancouver) and Sasha Vagramov (Port Moody)
BRONZE: Tennis Women’s Doubles – Aaron Diemer (Victoria) and Jovan Sihota (North Vancouver)

Soccer – Team BC 2 Team Nova Scotia 2 (Nova Scotia wins 4-3 in penalty kicks)
Softball women – Team BC 3 Team Ontario 1
Volleyball Men – Team BC 3 Team Quebec 2 (25-17, 25-23, 21-25, 24-26, 17-15) 

The last day of the Canada Summer Games will feature the gold medal women’s softball game where Team BC will play  Team Alberta for gold at 9:30am (Central).
