Softball Recap August 1
Game 1 Team Sask 3 Team BC 0
BC went down to Saskatchewan 3-0. Saskatchewan scored their runs in the 2nd, 5th and 7th innings. Logan Groves took the hill for BC. Hailing from Smithers BC, the 18 year old overcame some early struggles with control to settle down and force a lot of ground balls. His teammates picked him up in the field, and he showed himself to be a force to be reckoned with despite being one of the youngest players on the squad.
Game 2
Team Nova Scotia 5 Team BC 3
In the second game of the day, BC lost a back and forth battle with Nova Scotia. Ace Josh Anderson took the mound for BC, and held Nova Scotia to 2 runs through six innings.
Clint Taylor hit a key home run in the bottom of the 6th inning, giving BC a short-lived lead. Nova Scotia then strung together 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning, and they proved to be the difference as BC was unable to produce any runs in the final frame.
BC will play the last game of the round robin tomorrow, 1:00 CST against Quebec.
