Quinten Fast lives up to his name in the men’s slopestyle where he claims silver

By Julianne Zussman, Team BC Mission Staff

Quinten Fast (Agassiz) pulled through in the final run of the men’s slopestyle competition to win a silver medal at Tabor Mountain today.  After placing second in qualification this morning, Fast struggled to land an impressive run in the finals.  In his third and final run, he strung together an exciting set of rails and jumps and launched himself from last place to the podium, where he collected his hardware.

Adrian Tongko (North Vancouver) had an energetic performance put him in fifth overall, with an especially impressive second run of the finals.  On the women’s side, Jacquie Monette (Whistler) was a force to be reckoned with on all of her runs.  She finished fourth overall, narrowly missing the podium, but collecting significant flag points for Team BC.  Bella Beharrell (Nanaimo) finished ninth in qualification and missed the final by 0.4 points.  She also contributed important flag points toward Team BC’s total, where the snowboard team now sits in third place overall.
