As we approach 100 days to go until the 2019 Canada Games in Red Deer, Alberta, Team BC is pleased to launch MISSION STAFF MONDAY and introduce our Mission Staff. Each Monday we will profile a member of our Team BC Mission Staff by asking them personal questions and sharing their intimate details.

MEET CAROLYNN BOOMER – SPECIAL EVENTS LEAD

Why did you join Team BC Mission Staff?
Love to give back to athletes and coaches in a multisport games environment as there are so many magical moments.
What advice do you have for Team BC Athletes heading to Red Deer?
Be in the moment, do your best and enjoy your experiences!
Carolynn has been the Executive Director for PacificSport Interior BC since the Provincial Government announced Kamloops as the first Regional Sport Centre in November 1994. The Provincial network is committed to developing sport at all levels by integrating world-class athlete services, coaching education and long-term sport development opportunities.
If you could win an Olympic Medal for any sport (real or fake) what would it be?
Volleyball (indoor)
Carolynn has been in sport all her life. She was a provincial team volleyball athlete and a collegiate who competed at the national level; she competed in the 2005 World Masters Games for volleyball and the 2010 World Masters Games in athletics where she won a silver medal. She is an NCCP coach who led the University College of the W Cariboo (now Thompson Rivers University) Women’s volleyball team from 1993-1997 and has been Team Canada Mission staff for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia and a Team BC Canada Games mission staff for several Games.
What’s the best Halloween costume you ever had?
The twin sister from the Shining with my friend – no one knew who we were.
What was your first concert?
