Golfers in strong position after round 3

MEN:
Tristan Mandur (Mill Bay) shot a solid 71 today, moving him up to 3rd place after round three. Nolan Thoroughgood (Victoria) also finished with a 71, moving him from 9th place up to 7th. Teammate Keaton Gudz (Victoria) shot a 76 which moves him down to 8th overall.

“I am a bit frustrated with my third round. I knew I needed a good one today and played well enough to get back in it. However, today’s putts just didn’t go my way”
 
On what Team BC is doing to prepare for the final round:
“We did some putting practice after our third round to try and take advantage of our shots tomorrow.”
 
On having support from parents who came to watch & family members who live in Winnipeg:
“The support of my family has helped tremendously. Knowing that they are watching and cheering for BC is awesome.”
 
On his favorite part of the overall Games so far:
“I think my favorite part of the Games is the provincial pride. No matter what sport it is, everyone from BC is there rooting and cheering hard for the other BC athletes.”

WOMEN:

Alisha Lau (Richmond) had another strong performance today, shooting a  70 and moving into 1st place overall. Hannah Lee (Surrey) was right behind with a 71, maintaining her 4th place position. Teammate Tiffany Kong (Vancouver) shot a 75 which moves her up to a tie for 8th place.

“Today was definitely an improvement. Yesterday was rough, so it feels good to play better.”

On what Team BC is doing to prepare for the final round:

“We’ve been making sure to focus on rest and recovery after our rounds. Also, we are going to cheer for our fellow Team BC teammates tonight to get pumped for tomorrow’s round!”

On her favorite part of the overall Games so far:

“My favorite part of the Games so far is the atmosphere in general. I love how so many athletes playing different sports are able to come together and represent their provinces.”
