Gold and Silver for Team BC Volleyball

Team BC women’s volleyball came out fighting today against Team Alberta in the gold medal match at the Western Canada Summer Games. Both teams did not want to give up an inch in the first set going back and forth up until almost game point. Team BC outlasted winning the set 25-‎22. The second was much the same with both teams trading points back and forth until 17 where Team BC took over and won the match 25-19. Team BC came out strong in the third set building a strong lead and coasting to the finish winning 25-17 to take the gold medal.

The men’s volleyball team faced off against Team Alberta in the gold medal match. The match was tight throughout all three sets and could of gone either way or extended. Team Alberta took the match 3-0 with the set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 27-25. The men played one of there best matches of the Games but came up on the short end. It was a successful Games for the men as they are a very young team and can grow on this experience in moving to the next level of competition.
