Blue and yellow turns into gold, silver and bronze for Team BC in the pool
After two days of competition in the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, it appears painted finger nails may be contributing to Team BC’s success.
Team BC athletes have stepped onto the podium 16 times since swimming began on Monday at the 2017 Canada Games. And when they display their medals, it’s easy to notice the blue and yellow nail polish. “One of our managers brought a bunch of yellow and blue nail polish for us,” said Surrey’s Arianna Hunsicker, who has two bronze medals – 100m and 200m Para freestyle. “One night, we decided to paint our fingernails and show some Team BC spirit. Even the boys ended up getting onto it.”
When asked if the nail polish has brought good luck she said, “I think so. We’ve got a bunch of medals.”
Swimming finals continue on Wednesday evening.
