(St. John’s, NL – June 19, 2024) — The 2025 Canada Games mascot, Gusty the codfish, made a splash as they were officially introduced to the public on Wednesday. Arriving by boat in downtown St. John’s, Gusty was met with cheers from the crowd, including Mascot Challenge winner Michael Tobin and 2025 Canada Games athletes at the harbourfront.

“It was fantastic to have Michael, the athletes, and the community come together to celebrate Gusty’s first public appearance,” said Kim Keating and Karl Smith, Co-Chairs of the 2025 Canada Games Board. “We are excited for everyone to meet Gusty, and we believe that they will inspire communities throughout the region to celebrate, participate, and embrace the 2025 Canada Games.”
