The BC Games Society is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience.  This Statement of Privacy applies to the Team BC website, including the results site and the registration site, and governs data collection and usage.  By using the Team BC website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Through the BC Games Society online registration, the BC Games Society may collect personally identifiable information such as your email address, name, address, telephone number, and date of birth.  The BC Games Society also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your postal code and gender.  This information is collected and stored as described in the Collection and Storage of Personal Information Policy available on the Team BC website.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by the BC Games Society.  This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by the BC Games Society for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Team BC website.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through the BC Games Society or Team BC public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Note:  the BC Games Society does not read any of your private online communications.

The BC Games Society encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from the Team BC website so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. The BC Games Society is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the BC Games Society and BC Games Society or Team BC family of websites.

USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

The BC Games Society collects and uses your personal information to operate the Team BC website and deliver the services you have requested.  The BC Games Society also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of sport services and opportunities available from the BC Games Society and its affiliates.  The BC Games Society may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

The BC Games Society does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. Volunteer and participant information is collected under the authority of the BC Games Society.  The information will be used to arrange liability insurance coverage to address any claims arising from the voluntary participation in the BC Games.  The information will be used to allocate volunteers to the various functions, and to advise registered volunteers of meetings, training sessions, scheduling, and other related information and to determine eligibility of participants to participate in the Team BC program.  The names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and/or images of registered volunteers and participants may be used in non-commercial promotion/development of sport and/or Team BC or the Team BC program or the BC Games Society.  The names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and/or images may be provided to the Premier and the Minister responsible for the Games or to BC Games Society sport partners.  For questions about the collection and use of this information, please contact the BC Games Society 200 -990 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8V 3K2, 250-387-1375 or info@bcgames.org.

BC Games Society does not use or disclose sensitive personal information such as date of birth without your explicit consent.

The BC Games Society keeps track of the websites and pages our viewed within the Team BC website in order to determine what services are the most popular.  This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within the Team BC website.

The Team BC website will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on the BC Games Society or the Team BC site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of the BC Games Society; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the BC Games Society, or the public.

USE OF COOKIES
