Tough Conditions out at Tabor for Team BC’s Freestyle Skiing Team
It was a rough start to the week for Tabor Mountain, the venue hosting the Freestyle skiing events – the warm, mild weather has caused a downpour of rain on the course, melting some of the snow. As a result, training was cut short on Friday morning in order to preserve the base, but everything is still expected to run as scheduled over the weekend.
When asked about the conditions, Team BC Freestyle athlete Patrick Dew, simply called the conditions “wet.” However, the team seemed impressed with the course design as Dew stated the “park has got flow.”
The park competitions get underway at Tabor Mountain tomorrow, with Slopestyle on the Saturday, February 14 and Big Air featured on Sunday, February 15. Team BC athletes to watch this weekend include Teal Harle on the men’s side and Elena Gaskell for the women.
