Three potential bronzes for Team BC

By Ashley McMullin, Team BC Mission Staff

Team BC competed in seven quarterfinal and three semi-final matches in the individual badminton competition.  Qingzi Ouyang (Vancouver) in women’s singles, James Ho (Surrey) in men’s singles, and Joshua Liu (Vancouver)/Duncan Yao (Richmond) in pair’s, will now compete for bronze medals after their semi-final losses.

The semi-final match was both Liu’s and Yao’s third match of the day, as each also competed in a different event’s quarterfinal match (men’s singles for Liu and mixed doubles for Yao).  “I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t find and keep my rhythm during the game,” said Liu.  “We will be well rested up for tomorrow, bringing on a new game plan and playing with more confidence.”

Today, the bronze medal matches kick off at 9:00 a.m. Go Team BC!
