Team BC will compete for medals in the squash team finals

By Ashley McMullin, Team BC Mission Staff

Team BC played in two, team competition semi-finals last night.  In the first, the women defeated Team Manitoba.  Team BC was ahead two matches to one going into the last match, and the team needed to win at least one game to come out with an overall win for the encounter.

When Zoe Colclough (Vancouver) took the court, she was facing an unknown opponent.  “I felt confident going into the match, even though I didn’t know exactly what to expect,” she said.

The women will now battle for gold against Team Ontario today.  “I feel like our wins this far in the event will give us momentum into tomorrow,” said Colclough.

The men had a tough encounter in the semi-finals, and though Team BC had wins over Team Ontario in the individual competition, they lost 0-4 to Team Ontario in the team semi-finals.  They will now compete for a bronze medal against Team Quebec.
