Two losses for Team BC softball to open the Canada Games

Team BC Softball began the 2017 Canada Summer Games taking on two strong teams from Alberta and Ontario.

Game One: Team Alberta 8 Team BC 6

Game Two: Team Ontario 14 Team BC 0

Team BC dropped the first game of the tournament to Team Alberta by a score of 8-6.  They ran into some trouble early, giving up 5 runs in the first inning, but continued to battle for seven innings against their western counterpart.  They outhit Alberta 12-7 but errors in the field proved their downfall.

Team BC’s Josh Anderson (Surrey) pitched five strong innings, overcoming some control trouble and hiccups in the field early to settle down and register eight strikeouts across five innings.  Isaac Goodwill (Chilliwack) led the team with two RBI’s, going 2/3 at the plate.  Branden Donegon (Agassiz) also batted 3/4 and pitched a scoreless inning in relief.  

The team then took on Team Ontario in the second game of today’s double header finishing with a 14-0 loss.  

Tomorrow, Team BC takes on Team PEI and then Team Manitoba.
