Two silvers and a bronze for Team BC
It was a relatively quiet day at the Canada Games with many sports on a rest day, but the divers were in action and earned another three medals for Team BC.
Medal Results:
SILVER: Diving 1m Springboard – Coral Strugnell (Victoria)
SILVER: Diving 3m Springboard – Bryden Hattie (Victoria)
BRONZE: Diving 3m Springboard – Ryan Grover (Victoria)
It was Bryden Hatties’s third silver medal of the Games.
On winning three silver medals in Winnipeg. “I am just surprised, I guess, that I got silver in all my events so far. I was not expecting it at all. But I just did what I knew how to do and it worked out in the end.”
On how he prepares for each dive. “I think all my focus is put towards dancing before I go. I just dance it out and that’s how I focus.”
The men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams played their quarter-final games against host Team Manitoba. With the stands filled with local supporters, Team BC did their best to make some noise and cheer on the teams. Both the men and women took 2-1 set wins and will play in the semifinals tomorrow with the men and the women taking on Team Alberta.
The men’s basketball team squared off against Team Alberta in the semifinal but lost 71-56. They will play for bronze Friday against Team Quebec.
