Team BC alumni throws perfect game at Pan Ams

Sara Groenewegen (White Rock) pitched a perfect game against Venezuela at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. Groenewegen competed for Team BC at the 2011 Canada Summer Games. She struck out 10 batters in five innings as Canada improved to 2-0 at the tournament. She was also a key player when Canada won the gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games with a finals win over the United States.

Groenewegen also competed in the 2008 BC Summer Games.

Canada faces the US today (Tuesday) in round robin play.
